IT service management (ITSM IT Services) as you think is a discipline which is used for managing information technology (IT) systems, that are philosophically centered on the customer’s perspective of information technology’s contribution to the business. ITSM stands at deliberate contrast to a technology-centered approach to the IT management and its business interaction. No 1 author, organization, or a vendor owns the term ” service management” and origins of the phrase are unclear. ITSM is process-focused and in this sense have tied and common interests with the process improvement and movement frameworks and methodologies.
The main discipline is not at all concerned with the details on how to use a particular vendor’s product, or if necessarily with the technical details of the systems that are under management. Instead, it will focus upon providing a frame to the structure IT Outsourcing and the interactions of IT Services technical personnel with business customers and users. ITSM is generally concerned with operational concerns of IT management, and not with technology development. For example, the process of burning computer software for a sale, or designing a microprocessor will not be the focus of any discipline, but all the computer systems that are used by marketing and business development staff in software and hardware companies would be. Many non-technology companies, such as those in the financial and travel industries, have had significant information technology systems which will be not exposed to customers.
